Drooly, madly, deeply - Dogs Trust Manchester hopes Barney finds his furry-tail ending this Valentine's Day

Drooly, madly, deeply

A dog found wandering the streets alone is hoping that his search for ever-lasting love will come to an end this Valentine’s Day.

Barney, a three-year-old Shar Pei, is currently being cared for by the team at Dogs Trust Manchester and has stolen the heart of many, particularly Canine Carer Stephanie Massaglia.

Steph and Barney have developed a close bond and love heading out on quiet walks together. But Steph says however much she has fallen for Barney, she would be delighted if he was to find the forever home and long-term love he deserves.

She says:
“Barney is such a sweet boy and has had a really tough time so it would be wonderful if he found his very own special someone.

“He is looking for a home with just a single adult so he can be totally devoted to them, and them to him. He loves heading out for a day trip in the car and so his ideal match would be an active owner who enjoys an adventure just as much as he does.

“He likes to take his time to get to know you so he is looking for a patient person who will give him time to settle in and not expect too much of him at first. But once he knows he can trust you, you’ll have a loyal partner for life.”

Barney will need his own secure garden to play in and he will need to be the only pet in the home. He would like a quiet home with few visitors and no visiting children so there aren’t too many comings and goings.

Steph says:
“Barney really is an adorable boy and he is beginning to understand that the world isn’t as scary as he thinks and is full of love and kindness.

“His owner will need to take things at Barney’s pace but as his confidence builds, I know his personality will shine through; he is such a character. It has been heart-warming to see him grow here and I am sure that my colleagues would agree with me that once you get to know him, he just steals your heart.

“Barney deserves to find his perfect partner and I know that his new owner will definitely consider themselves very lucky to have Barney in their life, I know I do.”
