COULD YOU GIVE THIS OLD AGE POOCH THE GIFT SHE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR HER WHOLE LIFE – A LOVING HOME?

Oct 01, 2020

Dogs Trust Loughborough is hoping National Grandparents Day this Sunday (4 October) will prove every dog really does have its day, by finding a forever home for one of its oldest, long term residents.

Boxer Cross Molly, now eleven, has spent most of her life in kennels having been found as a stray at just eight months old. Now the team are hoping that she can finally find her ideal home where she can spend her twilight years.

Celine Di Crocco, Manager at Dogs Trust Loughborough, says:

“Molly is a very special girl with a big heart, and we would love her to finally find the home she deserves. Although she has unfortunately not spent much time in a home, Molly has stayed with me and she was the ideal house guest. She was perfectly comfortable with all the different sounds and smells, slept in the lounge at night and we enjoyed a cuddle on the sofa in the evening.

“She had a really tough start in life, but every dog really does deserve a loving family and we’re hoping that this Grandparent’s Day, Molly finally gets to meet hers.”

Molly likes to take her time to get to know people but once she does, you have a four-legged friend for life. As she missed out on so much as a puppy, having to fend for herself, she is understandably anxious around strangers and other dogs, so the team are looking for a quiet, calm home for her with no more than two adults and no other pets.

Celine says:

“She really is a gorgeous girl so if someone is looking to welcome an older dog into their lives, then she could be the one. We look after all of our dogs until the time is right for them to head home with their very own family, however long that takes, so Molly will be with us until that day comes, but we would like to think her wait will soon be over.”

If you think Molly could be the perfect match for you, please call the centre on 01509 273349 to arrange to meet her. As she has been in kennels for a long time, her new family will need to meet her several times at the rehoming centre so they can build a bond with her. To find out more go to www.dogstrust.org.uk

Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing, but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff and our visitors safe.

Dogs Trust estimates that up to 40,000 more dogs could be at risk of abandonment in the fallout of the coronavirus crisis. If you would like to help change the course of events and help us continue to be there for more dogs and their owners when they need us, please give what you can by visiting www.dogstrust.org.uk/changethetale
